Little Falls

Lying in the southern portion of Passaic County is the small borough of Little Falls, New Jersey. It has grown dramatically in the last few years since the 2000 Census. As of the 2010 United States Census, it registered a population of 14,432, which was a growth of 33%.

Little Falls has an interesting design. It features three subdivisions: Great Notch, Singac and the downtown area, which is commonly referred to as the Center of Town or just Little Falls. Since the borough is just under 3 square miles, it has a dense population of over 5,000 persons per square mile. The median age for this community is 32.1 years. The residents have a varied heritage of Italian, German, Irish, Polish, English and Arab. Just over 10% of residents are foreign born. About 42% of adult residents are married with another 8% divorced.

Surrounding Little Falls are several other small boroughs, including Cedar Grove, Totowa, West Paterson, Fairfield, Upper Montclair, Verona and North Caldwell. Clifton is only four miles to the east and is the largest nearby city. Newark is about ten miles to the south while New York is just 20 miles away.
